Katie Kirk is a Brooklyn-based playwright from Northwest Indiana. Katie has presented or developed work with organizations including Theater Masters, the Sewanee Writers' Conference, Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, the University of Kentucky, Missouri State University, Fresh Fruit Festival, and the American College Theater Festival, and has a play published with Concord Theatricals.
Katie received an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation screenwriting award and the Mary Marlin Fisher Playwriting Award. They were a finalist for ABC Signature’s Emerging Playwright Initiative, the cell theatre's Residency Program, and the Gary Garrison Ten-Minute Play Award; a semifinalist for Rattlestick Theater's Terrence McNally New Works Incubator, NormalAve’s NAPSeries, and the Humanitas Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Screenwriting Award; and longlisted for Seattle Public Theater's Distillery New Works Festival.
